Jurors got a chance on Thursday to hear a murder suspect try to explain why he stabbed his girlfriend more than three dozen times during an argument.
Jurors were shown tape of a police interrogation last October.
Defendant Quavize Jones can be seen leaning his head against a wall in the Dallas Police Department. Dressed in a hospital gown with hands bandaged from knife cuts, the 29-year-old told police that Marietta Shaw was argumentative the night she was stabbed 39 times.
He admitted he did it but has maintained it was out of self-defense.
Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk is personally prosecuting the trial, and for the second day, the defendant’s brother caused a disruption.
On Wednesday, he brought court proceedings to a halt, because there was nowhere to sit.
On Thursday, Jones' brother was admonished for talking to and aggravating the victim's family out in the hallway.
