Dallas firefighters spent more than an hour and a half putting out a fire that heavily damaged two businesses in east Dallas.

Firefighters arrived just after midnight Tuesday to a commercial building that housed Fide’s Beauty Salon and Fruteria Cano near Beacon Street and Lindsley Avenue.

Heavy smoke and fire was coming from the attic and the roof eventually collapsed. The fire also damaged nearby power lines, forcing Oncor to shut down the power in the area.

One firefighter suffered heat-related injuries and needed treatment.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
