COVID, flu cases on the rise in North Texas

Respiratory viral season is in full bloom with COVID, flu and RSV cases keeping medical providers across the Metroplex busy.

Tarrant County confirmed a child died recently from complications of the flu.

This is the county’s first pediatric flu death since the 2019-2020 flu season.

There have been two other child flu deaths in Texas this season.

Flu cases surge across US, CDC reports

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its latest weekly report, indicating a 16.2% increase in flu cases across the United States.

Tarrant County’s health department did not release the name, age, or gender of the child because of privacy reasons.

But the child did have underlying medical conditions, the county said.
