Norway beats Ivory Coast in World Cup knockout match at Dallas Stadium
Dallas Stadium was swarming with fans wearing red and blue, along with Viking hats, on Tuesday as Norway beat Ivory Coast.
Norway, whose fans are known for their "Viking Row" chant, is marking its first World Cup appearance since 1998. The team finished the group stage 2-0-1 to advance to the knockout round for only the second time ever.
Star striker Erling Haaland scored a goal late in the second half to secure Norway’s 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, this was Ivory Coast’s fourth World Cup appearance. The team, nicknamed "Les Elephants," will be heading home after making it to the group stage for the first time.
Tuesday’s World Cup match was the first Round of 32 elimination match in Arlington.
