Texas Tribune reporter Alana Rocha joins Good Day live from Austin. She said Gov. Abbott's top priorities for this legislative session are no surprise -- tax reform and school finance. He also considers teacher pay and school safety emergency items.

Meanwhile, a longtime aide to the governor finds himself at the center of a controversy and is no slam dunk to be confirmed as Secretary of State. David Whitley created quite a controversy with his now largely debunked list of possible illegal voters. Abbott says we do need to clean up voter registration lists and a problem is that while there is a central database of drivers, voter registration is handled by the counties.

Finally, President Donald Trump plans to visit El Paso Monday. He will likely repeat his claim that a fence or wall made the city safer. That is in dispute.
