Texas House Panel advances bill to raise age to purchase some rifles

The bill surprisingly advanced HB 2744 out of committee. The bill would raise the age for Texans to buy certain semiautomatic rifles from 18 to 21. The bill faces long odds among the Republican Majority in the House.
