Non-profit working to end veteran homelessness

A non-profit founded by veterans to serve veterans is focused on ending veteran homelessness.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development reports roughly 38,000 veterans are homeless. That's about 9% of all homeless adults.

U.S. Vets is helping homeless veterans and their families gain independence and freedom that they helped fight for.

Erik Miller is the executive director of U.S. Vets in Long Beach, California. He spoke to FOX 4’s Heather Hays about his initiative.
