IRVING, Texas - A home invasion suspect was shot and killed by Irving police early Saturday morning.
Irving police spokesman James Mclellan said officers were called to the 700 block of Jeff Court when three masked men forced their way into a home. Sources indicate a person inside that home was able to call police.
When officers arrived the suspects ran from the scene. McLellan said one suspect surrendered to police, but the two others ran.
A short distance from the home invasion scene one suspect began firing at officers. The officers returned fire, killing the man. No officers were injured in the exchange of gunfire, according to McLellan.
The third suspect then ran to a nearby home and hide under a back porch of a house. Irving SWAT was called to the scene and was able to get that suspect to surrender just after 7 a.m. Saturday.
The police spokesman said officers are now beginning their follow up investigation.
The deceased suspect has been identified as Colton Price Marcellus. Jaime Alexander Gutierrez and Obed Isau Zavala are now charged with aggravated robbery.
