Cold, wet, and blustery weekend in store for North Texas

Our increasing overnight clouds will be sticking around for the afternoon (and frankly, the weekend as well) as a system approaches us from the west/southwest. We'll start things out dry today with maybe an isolated sprinkle, then areas W/SW will see rain beginning after 2 p.m., Metroplex after 5 p.m., and areas east later on this evening.

Highs today will be in the low to mid 60s, then after sunset, they will start a long and slow decrease, eventually only getting into the 40s to start Saturday, and hovering in the upper 40s all through Saturday afternoon. A cold rain will continue on and off all day Saturday, with a brief break in the evening, before picking right back up again Sunday morning. Coverage will be near 100%.

Sunday won't be much warmer, with highs only in the low 50s, but rain chances will decrease to about 20%.

On and off showers return Monday, then dry Tuesday with warmer temps into the low 60s, but then Arctic air will dive south Wednesday into Thursday, giving us a widespread hard freeze early Thursday with low precip chances.
