Suspect in Fort Worth double murder arrested out of state

A man suspected of killing two people last week in Fort Worth was arrested out of state.

Police did not say which state 37-year-old Paige Terrell Lawyer was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Tennessee over the weekend.

30-year-old Otishae Womack was found dead in her kitchen Friday morning. The medical examiner identified her daughter as 10-year-old Kamyria Womack, a fourth grader at Morningside Elementary School. She was also found dead on Friday.

The ME’s office says the cause of death for both mother and daughter were strangled.

Police arrested 37-year-old Paige Lawyer in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Sunday evening. He was wanted on a charge of capital murder and had a history of violence against Womack.

Neighbors said they often saw Lawyer around the young mother’s apartment complex on Shady Lane Drive. They recognized him as having visited or stayed with the family.

“I see him in the garage also driving her vehicle, getting in and out and leave and coming back in it on occasion,” said Scott Mitzel, a neighbor.

"I just knew that they argued and fought,” said neighbor Carietta Cook. “I would see her going in and out of her apartment with her children."

Lawyer has three prior domestic violence cases against Womack going back to January 2017. In two of those cases, he's accused of choking her.

Neighbors said they saw Lawyer taking out the trash at Womack's apartment Friday morning just hours before the bodies were discovered.

Fort Worth Police were called back out to the scene on Monday by family members complaining that Womack's things were put out on the balcony by the landlord before the family was able to go through them.

The family tells FOX 4 off camera that they still have not been granted access to Womack's belongings.
