Dallas police are looking for the people who tried and failed to steal two ATMs in 24 hours.

The latest attempt was at the PLS Check Cashing store on Singleton Boulevard in West Dallas early Wednesday morning.

An employee saw two masked men smash the front window and tie a chain around the ATM. They tried to yank it free using a red pickup truck but the chain broke.

The two suspects took off. Police later found their truck at a nearby apartment complex.

Investigators the stolen truck is the same one that was used in another failed attempt to steal an ATM at a gas station in Oak Cliff Tuesday morning.

In both cases, the suspects caused significant damage but did not get away with any money.
