One person killed in apparent Burleson road rage incident

One person is dead after an apparent road rage incident that spanned two cities and came to an end outside the Burleson Police Department’s building on Monday afternoon.

Burleson PD says a driver called 911 just before 2 p.m. and said that they were being chased and shot at by the driver of another vehicle. The driver informed the 911 operator that they were on their way to the department’s headquarters. The victim was injured by the time the vehicle stopped in front of the police station. Police say the victim later died.

Witnesses told the department that it was a “road rage” type of incident that had started in Fort Worth. Burleson police are trying to determine where the shots were fired, but do not believe any were fired in front of its headquarters.

The suspect is being held in the Johnson County Jail. Their name has not been released.
