More than 7,000 pounds of fireworks confiscated from Dallas home

Officers with the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Fire Prevention department seized more than 7,100 pounds of illegal fireworks from a home in Pleasant Grove Tuesday morning.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office informed DFR that it had received a tip from an individual about someone illegally selling fireworks within Dallas city limits. DFR Fire Inspectors investigated and deemed the tip credible. They got a search warrant and executed it Tuesday morning.

Officers with the two agencies found approximately 7,133 pounds of fireworks at the residence on the 1400 block of Ashview Circle.

Fireworks are illegal to possess in the city of Dallas. People found to be in violation of this law could face a fine of up to $2,000.
