Man fatally shot outside Oak Cliff apartment

DALLAS - A man returning home with food for children was killed outside his west Oak Cliff apartment Friday morning.

Witnesses reported hearing the gunshots at the Estrella Apartments on West Kiest Boulevard near Loop 12 around 3:30 a.m.

Police found a man shot in the head on the second story landing. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

The man had gone to a restaurant to pick up food for several kids and his mother inside the apartment.

Police said they are still unsure about the motive and do not have a description of the suspect.
