An explosion led to a fire that destroyed a home in Tarrant County Saturday night.
According to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the explosion happened at 7 p.m., at a home in the 8200 block of Bella Flora Dr. in southwest Tarrant County.
Painters were reportedly on scene, when they heard popping noises. A short time later, the whole house burst into flames.
Tarrant County Deputy Fire Marshal Keith Ebel said the home was being renovated. The homeowners were not there at the time of the fire.
A painter was working with a liquid substance, when "it found an ignition source" from the vapors, and the vapors caused the explosion, Ebel said.
One person was injured with non-life threatening injuries.
Cresson and Benbrook Fire Departments are assisting.
One person who lives less than a mile away said she could feel and hear the explosion when it happened.
