Ft. Worth serial robbery suspect arrested

Police arrested a suspect Friday afternoon wanted for five armed robberies, including one holdup where the alleged crook pistol whipped a convenience store clerk.

Detectives say it was a combination of some anonymous tips and some surveillance video they discovered Thursday that led them to the suspect, 27-year-old Darion Flowers.

Police released surveillance video from the crime spree showing the robber and his accomplice wearing masks.

He was arrested at a Fort Worth motel.
Members of the Fugitive Squad cleared out the rooms adjacent to the one he was in, and then went in and got him.

Police said that the woman he was with was not charged and was merely taken in for questioning.

Public records show that Flowers is a convicted felon from Houston, with arrests for drug, theft, and weapons charges.

Another man, believed to be Flowers' accomplice, was seen with him robbing stores in surveillance video. That person has not been arrested, but detectives hope that after they question Flowers, they'll be able to identify the second man.
