Fort Worth SWAT standoff ends peacefully

- Fort Worth police spent hours negotiating with a man holed up in his house late Sunday night.

The standoff started just before midnight at a house on the far north side of the city on Silver Sage Drive, which is near Western Center and Basswood boulevards.

The man had a rifle and was reportedly threatening to commit suicide. He also pointed the rifle at officers.

Officers were able to get all of his family members out of the house and a SWAT team talked him into surrendering.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt.
