Fort Worth police arrest teen suspects in game room robbery

- Those responsible for a violent shooting and robbery at a Fort Worth game room in February are now behind bars, police said.

At a press conference Thursday morning, police said all five suspects were arrested in March. All remain in jail charged with aggravated robbery.

They include 17-year-old Brenshay Jarrell Washington and 18-year-olds Anthony LaSalle Barber, Paul Dejuan Garner and Jcolby Tyjae Jackson. The fifth suspect is a minor.

The shooting happened early on Valentine’s Day on Beach Street near Broadway Avenue in north Fort Worth.

Five young men stormed the business carrying what police said appeared to be an AK-47 rifle and handguns. They robbed several customers and took money from the game room. An 18-year-old woman was shot in the leg. Another customer was stomped and kicked repeatedly.

Police released dramatic surveillance of the robbery and asked for tips shortly after it happened. It shows debris raining down on customers as bullets ripped through the ceiling. Three of the five suspects were armed. They had their faces covered. One wore a clown mask and carried a rifle.

Police immediately began receiving clues after people saw the video.

“They wanted to quickly identify them because of the violent nature of that robbery,” Sgt. Chris Britt said. “We’re very glad to announce that due to the public’s input and assistance in this matter, we were able to identify five suspects associated with that robbery.”

Sgt. Britt thanked the public for helping to take five violent criminals off the streets.

Police do not believe the group of friends were responsible for any other aggravated robberies in Fort Worth. Despite their young ages, police said several of the suspects have a violent history.

People say besides the injuries to the victims, their cash and wallets were taken.

All the teen suspects are being held in the Tarrant County jail.
