Former Collin County teacher accused of improper relationship with student

A former teacher for Community ISD in Collin County has been arrested on charges that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Alberto Alcivar, 53, has been charged with indecency with a child by sexual contact.

He was a bilingual teacher at McClendon Elementary from August 2014 to June 2018.

Police began investigating Alcivar after a student contacted police on Jan. 26 and reported inappropriate sexual contact by a former Community ISD teacher.

The investigation led police to arrest Alcivar Friday morning.

Community ISD released a statement, saying in part:

“This incident is very troubling, and we want to assure you that the alleged reprehensible acts of this individual do not in any way align with the values or character of Community ISD. We are in the business of taking care of children and our first priority is always the safety of all students. We will continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement and the legal process.”

Anyone with additional information about Alcivar is asked to call the Community ISD Police Department at 972-843-6469.
