Doctor: Fifty Shades of Grey baby boom in North Texas

One doctor said there’s a Fifty Shades of Grey baby boom in one North Texas suburb.

Plano Medical Center set a record high of 30 births in the past two days. They typically average about 50 births in seven days in a busy week.

A doctor at the hospital said the reason for all the business is due to the release of the movie Fifty Shades of Grey. The movie also happened to be released on Valentine’s Day weekend in 2015.

Whatever the reason, it's a lot of birthdays to celebrate in North Texas.

"I actually had no clue there had been that many babies until they told me cause they had been in and out, checking on me,” said new mom Karson Knight.

The hospital on average has 200 deliveries a month and is on track this month to deliver more than 400 babies.
