DeSoto resident recovering from Zika virus
DALLAS - Dallas County has confirmed its fourth case of the Zika virus.
A person from DeSoto recently traveled to El Salvador and contracted the mosquito-borne illness. The person’s identity has not been released for privacy reasons.
The virus is linked to birth defects in babies, but health officials say this patient is not pregnant and all symptoms have subsided.
