Collin County to pay $255,000 to prosecute Ken Paxton

Collin County will pay nearly $255,000 to prosecute Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Paxton is charged with defrauding investors before taking office.

County commissioners voted to pay the legal and expense fees accumulated so far for the special prosecutor in the case.

The case is out of McKinney, which is Paxton’s hometown.

No trial date has been set yet.

If convicted of the most serious charge, Paxton faces prison time.
