2 pedestrians killed in overnight accidents

Two pedestrians were hit and killed on dark streets overnight.

The first accident happened around midnight Sunday in Duncanville in southern Dallas County. A man died on Main Street north of Interstate 20.

The driver who hit him stayed at the scene. She told police she could not avoid hitting him as he crossed the street.

The other fatal accident happened in Mesquite around 2 a.m. Monday. A man was hit by a car on Highway 80 near Big Town Boulevard.

Police found the man dead on a dark entrance ramp. Police said that driver also stayed at the scene.

No charges are expected in either case.
