Officially, the state of Texas is skeptical. But Dr. Cliff Frohlich from the University of Texas and Dr. Heather Deshon from SMU are not. They've been studying the link between earthquakes and the underground injection of wastewater that is a byproduct of oil and gas production. They're convinced wastewater injection wells have triggered seismic activity in North Texas.
