A Dallas coffee shop along set to open next week will employ teen and young adult foster kids.

La La Land Kind Café will open in Dallas’ Lower Greenville neighborhood and feature all-organic products and a staff that is aging out of the foster care system.

The café’s owner said the idea is to employ and mentor foster youth who have not had the same opportunities other kids have had.

“We are so excited to be a part of this community and help better our world, together,” the café said in a post Tuesday on Facebook, announcing its opening day of March 25.

Training has been occurring in recent days for the young people who will work at the café. Ownership wants the employees to learn necessary life and job skills and lead happy lives.

“We hope to create a welcoming space where everyone can feel like they are part of something bigger than themselves,” the café says in a mission statement on its website. “No longer will they ever be alone. Our team is our family.”

The café is in a renovated home just off Greenville Ave. behind the Trader Joe’s.
