Two more rough days before RELIEF!

It's always "Darkest before Dawn", and in Texas it's "HOTTEST ahead of the Cold Front!"

A couple of rough days on the way. Heat ADVISORIES have been expanded to most areas through tomorrow. Today will hit 101 with just some cirrus clouds. SW winds this morning will result in a rapid rise into the afternoon hours (Heat Index 107).

Friday will find a cold front on the Red River, but will be moving VERY slowly. SW to W winds through midday will cause temps to jump to 102-103, although northern counties should be lower, as well as a low chance for storms (20%).

Slightly better storm chances will be around Friday night and Saturday as the cold front heads through. Some may have gusty winds as well.

By Saturday, the wind shift to the north will start the cooling (mid 90s) with similar temps Sunday and just 20% showers.

Next week looks to be "below average" as well. It may be quiet Monday, but new storm chances return by Tuesday and grow by mid-week. Highs in the low to mid 90s in August? Wow!
