After a chilly start to the day, North Texas returns to the 70s this afternoon. More clouds and low rain chances begin Wednesday, with a slightly higher chance for storms very early Thursday morning. Temperatures continue climbing, near 80 to end the work week. By the weekend, a stronger disturbance brings more widely scattered showers and storms.

Strong south winds take hold for the rest of the weekend and slowly moisten North Texas to gear up for the next disturbance. Expect a warm and windy Sunday and Monday. By Tuesday, scattered showers and storms return, with the highest coverage west of DFW. Widespread rain continues through Wednesday, with localized flooding a possibility.
