Put Away the Shorts...pull Out the Sweaters!

Finally FALL for a while! And getting ready for an almost "winter-like" day tomorrow...
North winds will get a little stronger today as the cold front continues deeper into Texas. Throw in mostly cloudy skies (from a Jet Stream overhead) and you get something more reminiscent of early December. Highs just under 60 (except 60s south) and only low 50s north.
Tonight drops into the 40s but should stay dry until late night or early morning. That's when energy from two areas converges over Texas to produce widespread cold rain. Amounts will be lightest north and heaviest (1") south. Throw in a north wind and temps will stay in the 40s all day! Brrr. That's colder than a normal mid-winter day!
Skies clear Thursday morning or noon to allow temps back near 60.
Friday looks quite nice, with a chilly start and a milder finish in the upper 60s.
Southeast winds develop Saturday (partly sunny skies) to get temps back into the low 70s as a cold front approaches at night. There will be a low chance for showers later at night into Sunday AM, before clouds decrease.
Next week looks to start pleasant (low 70s) and get warmer through Wednesday.
