More Late Summer Heat...More Rain Chances!

Having at least some rain chances every day is quite unusual for this time of year (which is typically dry).

The combination of Gulf moisture, a weak front nearby and several disturbances crossing the area will result in more showers.

Today will run up to 30%, mainly from noon through early evening. There still may be an isolated shower this AM west, but otherwise, we wait to heat into the low 90s with a humid air mass. Showers will be small and brief...but could contain heavy rain.

This disturbance will exit Thursday, so coverage will be slightly lower (20%).

The front will again stay north Friday...so we heat into low 90s with a stronger disturbance in the evening and night.

Coverage will actually be down to 30% daytime, but bump up at night into Saturday AM.

Extra clouds this weekend as the front stalls nearby may keep highs in the upper 80s but humid.

Indications are that the atmosphere will start to heat up again early next week...and a building ridge of higher pressure may keep shower coverage down as the temps go back UP into the low 90s.
