Hot Into the Weekend..Still dodging a Storm or Two!

Image 1 of 2

Slowly settling back to August...

Much quieter start today. A lot of clouds, but no storm complex. There may be an isolated shower that develops early on, but expect clouds to break for sun. That will heat us into the mid 90s with high humidity. Heat Index may be near 105 or 106 in spots, but NO heat advisory has been issued. The heating will bubble up scattered PM storms (20%) with heavy rain, lightning.

Saturday is probably the last day we will have to watch for rain risks. It is possible a storm complex in Oklahoma clips areas NE of Dallas early Saturday morning. If it doesn't, look for 20% storms area-wide in the afternoon hours. It will be hotter...upper 90s with a Heat Index near 107-108.

Sunday will have similar heat and humidity, but a building ridge of high pressure (albeit weak) will remove most shower chances.

It's similar Monday..."eclipse day", with partly sunny skies and mid 90s.

The next chance looks to be mid-week when yet another summer cold front heads in. There will be a few storms AND another dip in temps!
