A little more rain...a LOT more heat!

A little break from the extreme heat is nice while it lasts...but it will scream back this week!

A storm cluster from Oklahoma that dropped in overnight has weakened this morning...and will die off BUT the remnants will help to reform new storms this afternoon. Best chances will be metro south and east but can't rule them out anywhere. Some could have gusty winds as well. Thanks to the overnight rain and clouds...it should be a few degrees under 100 today, but the Heat Index will still be well over.

We heat back up tomorrow close to 100 with high humidity (Heat Index 105) and just a low chance for showers/storms (10%).

Hottest readings of the season will be found Wed-Fri with some areas 103 and up as high pressure builds back in...HOWEVER another pattern change will take place late week.

A cold front PLUS a shift to NW flow at higher levels should allow the front to head through NTX. Strong to severe storms may be possible Friday evening with the front. Temps this weekend will not only be in the 90s, but may actually be a hair BELOW average, especially Sun-Mon. There may also be storm chances in that flow pattern...so the end of July and even beginning of August don't look all that rough!
