A red-shouldered hawk found itself wedged in the grill of a truck after being hit in Manatee County.

After the truck hit the hawk, the driver drove the truck straight to the Wildlife, Inc. Education and Rehabilitation Center at Mixon Farms a few blocks away.

A rescuer is seen on video carefully extracting the hawk from the grill. As soon as it tasted freedom, the hawk flapped its wings.

Rescuer Damen Hurd said the bird only has minor injuries. "Woo-hoo! He lucked out!" Damen posted on Facebook.
