A bride, dumped a week before her wedding, put her heartbreak aside and reclaimed her wedding dress by dousing it with rainbow-colored powder in a color run.

Kilee Manulak says she was supposed to be married on November 7. Instead, her former fiance broke off the engagement a week before in a text message.

"It was really devastating. It was really heartbreaking," said Manulak.

Manulak says after about a week of despair, she was convinced by one of her bridesmaids to do something fun, an event where participants spray themselves with colored powder and run a race. She did the race in her white wedding dress.

"I did it for me. I did it to help me heal. I did it to kind of show other people it's OK,  you know, everything happens for a reason. You know, push through it," she said.

Manulak says she plans on getting the dress cleaned and donating it to charity.

She did meet in person with her ex since his text message, but says she has no plans to speak to him again. She says she wishes him the best.

Manulak hopes her story will inspire others who are dealing with a tough time and don't know how to cope. She told FOX 13 she's not giving up on love.

"I thank him for saving me. You know, for heartache and heartbreak and for letting me go so I can find happiness and love," she added.
