CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Suspects attempt to steal giant teddy bears from Valentine's Day vendor

- A Valentine's Day pop up shop was targeted by thieves, but it was anything but a clean getaway for these crooks.

The holiday is coming up and many people have mixed feelings about it, but love it or hate it, there is one way not to handle your Valentine's Day shopping.

Two theft suspects were caught on camera trying to make off with giant stuffed animals from a roadside vendor on Friday afternoon near 43rd Avenue and Thomas.

The two struggled to jam the giant bears into the waiting SUV. One man dropped the bear on the ground before loading it into the vehicle and getting inside. They were ready to make their getaway -- the only problem? They were at a red light and couldn't go anywhere.

The two men who work at the booth ran over to the SUV, forced the doors of the vehicle open -- to the delight of the man capturing the whole incident on video.

It appears the man in the SUV's back seat didn't put up much of a fight as he threw the bear out of the vehicle. As soon as the traffic light turned green, the SUV sped away and the big bears are back with their rightful owners.

"When I saw it, I felt angered because I think it was two adolescents. Very young people," said vender Erika Gonzalez. "It does affect me because I've worked very hard to get where I'm at, and people think that because I own a business, I have money, but that's not the case. I'm working hard to earn my money. This is my seed for my future."

Gonzalez says she forgives the suspects.

"I send them my blessing, and hope god puts love in their hearts for others."
