Pudge Rodriguez will go from calling pitches to crafting pizzas with new Texas Live! restaurant
Former Texas Rangers catcher and Hall of Famer Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez laid out his vision for his new restaurant set to open in Texas Live! in a media event Wednesday at Globe Life Park.
The restaurant, which will be called Pudge’s Pizza will be on the second floor of the entertainment complex. Pudge’s will feature pizzas crafted by Rodriguez himself.
"I can't wait to debut this new restaurant at the world-class Texas Live! development," Rodriguez said in a statement. "I look forward to seeing all my fans and sharing a good slice of pizza with my Rangers community at Pudge's Pizza come August."
The restaurant will open its doors the same night that Texas Live! makes its debut -- Aug. 9. The development will also count a restaurant by Guy Fieri, Lockhart Smokehouse, Arlington Backyard and Revolver Brewing among its tenants.
It will create 1,000 permanent jobs, some of which have yet to be filled.
