Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings recognized one of the greatest baseball players of all time on Wednesday.
Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez was in attendance at the Dallas City Council meeting as the mayor made a special proclamation declaring this week “Pudge Week.”
The Rangers catcher was inducted last week into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
“I want to just, to thank all of you because all you guys are fans are big supporters for the success of my career and all the support that you guys give me and the Rangers,” Rodriguez said.
The Rangers will retire Pudge's No. 7 on Saturday when they play the Houston Astros at Glove Life Park.
