FC Dallas deletes tweet taunting Zeke Elliott for suspension

FC Dallas deleted a tweet minutes after sending it that taunted Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott for his six-game suspension.

The soccer club tweeted “Yo @EzekielElliott, we’ve got six games for ya. #DTID” along with an image of its six home games left in 2017.

Barely ten minutes after tweeting it out, the tweet was deleted.

"We apologize for an inappropriate and insensitive message posted today. It does not reflect our values. We have addressed this internally," FC Dallas tweeted later.

Replies to the original tweet were overwhelmingly negative from fans.

FC Dallas has made an effort to court Cowboys players and other local team’s players as FCD fans. Notably, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has attended multiple games this season and was an honorary scarfer at a game this summer.

FC Dallas’ owners are the Hunt family of Dallas, who also own the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.

Elliott was suspended six games by the NFL on Friday for his alleged role in a domestic violence incident. Elliott’s reps said Friday afternoon they plan to appeal the suspension.
