Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott sponsors SPCA pet adoption drive

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was on hand Monday to help adopt out pets at the SPCA.

Elliott sponsored the adoption event at the SPCA of Texas’ Dallas shelter. People were able to adopt a pet for $21 – Elliott’s jersey number.

He also made a surprise appearance and took photos with fans and their new furry forever friends. He brought his own dog, Ace, and talked about their special bond.

“I mean what you're going through, what’s going on, you know he's always going to be there, he’s always going to be loyal and I mean how could he not brighten up your day,” Elliott said.

Nearly 50 animals found homes Monday because of the event. In addition, the NFL rookie donated $10,000 to the SPCA of Texas.
