Trump dodges local radio host's question on David Duke

- Donald Trump dodged a local radio host's question about knowing former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke after avoiding the same question in a CNN interview.

In an interview Monday with KLIF radio show host Nicole Barrett, when asked if he knew about David Duke's endorsement, he said "I didn't even know he endorsed me. David Duke endorsed me? All right, I disavow. okay."

Trump also said CNN gave him a bad earpiece and he didn't really hear the question Sunday morning when asked by Jake Tapper how he felt about support for his campaign from the KKK and David Duke. Trump repeatedly said he "didn't know" about Duke or white supremacists.

His response ignited a firestorm from his Republican opponents.

Senator Ted Cruz tweeted "Really sad. Donald Trump you're better than this. We should all agree, racism is wrong, KKK is abhorrent."

Florida Senator Marco Rubio repeated a similar sentiment saying "We cannot be a party that nominates someone who refuses to condemn white supremacists and the Ku Klux Klan."

Barrett said she interviewed Duke on her radio talk show Sunday night.

He said "I've heard from people all over America saying that CNN, David Duke, all day long."

Barrett said Duke was not at all dissauded by Trump's disavowal and subsequent indecision.

"I like his position on securing the borders and I just belief that Cruz and the other guy,  Rubio, are really traitors to the Republican Party conservative principles," Duke said.

Barrett adds, "he did say that he doesn't feel that Trump is really conservative enough."
