Workers at DeSoto Kohl's warehouse say paychecks not adding up

Kohl's employees at the DeSoto warehouse say the numbers on their paychecks are not adding up.

During the holidays, seasonal employees are supposed to be paid a bonus for perfect attendance, but workers say they haven't gotten the money.

Kohl’s warehouse worker George Davis believes he's getting the run-around when it comes to what he's being paid and what the company actually owes him.

The bonuses are spelled out in emails. Seasonal employees are offered $2 to $5 more per hour on top of their regular pay for perfect attendance on various days and weekends.

"When you’re working 50 hours and you’re getting paid $13, $14, $15, $17, you’re supposed to see more than any $300 to $400, and that’s after takeout,” said Davis. “And I feel like somebody needs to do something.”

FOX 4 received dozens of phone calls from people who say they work at the retailer’s DeSoto warehouse, all complaining about their paychecks not equaling what they feel they should.

The discrepancy figures depend on who you talk to.

"Well, mine is like, a couple hundred, but nothing major like that,” said seasonal employee Anniemae Horn. “But some people, they might be missing more. I don't know what other people have."

Some workers say it's been explained to them that the incentive pay will arrive separately, but when exactly is unclear.

“So do you know when to expect it?” said FOX 4’s Dionne Anglin.

“Whenever,” said Davis. “All we got to do is sit back and wait for your money to come. Those bills don’t stop coming, you know. Y’alls work don’t stop coming, but we stand here and we work hard for you and we make sure everything get done that you need to be done.”

A spokesperson for Kohl’s released a statement Thursday that says, “Today, some of our associates were able to preview their paycheck on an internal website prior to receiving their deposit. We were made aware, due to a clerical issue, that incentive pay was not included. We quickly worked to resolve the issue and all regular and incentive pay will be paid out by the 12/11/15 pay day, as scheduled. We apologized to our associates for any confusion."
