Dallas man arrested for murdering stepsister, putting body in dumpster

Dallas police arrested a man for murdering his stepsister and tossing the body into a dumpster in Oak Cliff.

Anthony Davis, 41, is now being held on a murder charge. His bond was set at $500,000.

Officers were called to the Oasis Apartment Homes in the 2700 block of East Ledbetter Drive, near Zumwalt Middle School around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses said they saw a Davis put the body into the dumpster. It was wrapped in blood-stained blankets.

Police quickly found a suspect that matched the description witnesses gave. Davis was still on the property and was taken into custody.

The vicitm was identified as Lashunda Richardson, 36. Richardson was the stepsister of Davis. Richardson’s body was found with several stab wounds to the back of the neck.

There was no immediate word on a possible motive for the crime.

Family members said the two lived together in the Oak Cliff apartment and were as close as any biological brother and sister.
