FORT WORTH, Texas - The Fort Worth Zoo has a new addition – it’s first ever baby western lowland gorilla.
The unnamed baby boy was born Saturday to first-time parents Gracie and Elmo.
The zoo for now he is staying close to his mother. But once he gets acclimated to his surroundings guests will be able to see him at various times of the day in both the indoor and outdoor World of Primates exhibits.
Western lowland gorillas are critically endangered animals. The zoo participates in a cooperative breeding program for gorillas.
