Watauga teen skateboarder killed after being struck by car in Fort Worth

A Watauga teenager was killed Wednesday after being struck by a car while skateboarding in Fort Worth.

Police were called to the scene of an auto-pedestrian accident near the intersection of Riverside Drive and East Lancaster Avenue just before 6 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a 16-year-old male had been hit by a car.

According to police, the boy had been skateboarding down a hill on a nearby side street. He jumped off his skateboard before entering Lancaster Avenue, but his momentum carried him into the street, where he was hit by a car. The medical examiner ruled that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries.

He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where he declared dead just after 7:30 p.m. Police say that the driver of the vehicle that hit the boy has not been charged with a crime.
