Violent serial robbery suspect arrested in Oklahoma

Police believe they've caught the man responsible for five violent robberies in Tarrant County in a span of 18 hours.

James Michael Anderson was taken into custody Tuesday night at the WinStar Casino in Oklahoma. Law enforcement officials there said he committed a robbery in Gainesville prior to his arrest.

His alleged robbery spree in Tarrant County began around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police said he robbed a man and stole his Dodge Ram pickup in a Walmart parking lot on West Berry Street.

Less than an hour later, police say he tried to rob a woman and her two children as they were getting into their vehicle on Trail Lake Drive, which is a few miles away. The mother blew the vehicle's horn, and Anderson then took off.

Police say Anderson then drove to a Home Depot store on White Settlement Road. He stole a man's wallet and stabbed him in the back during the attack, police said.

On Tuesday morning, police said the suspect used a knife to rob a woman in the parking lot of another Home Depot on South Freeway.

Two hours later, another person was robbed outside a gas station on Main Street in Euless.

Then, there was a break in Gainesville, TX – two robberies there fit the suspect's M.O.

Information about the suspect was passed along to nearby police agencies, including in Oklahoma.

Lighthorse police then discovered the stolen truck in the WinStar Casino's parking lot.

Anderson was playing poker when police swarmed the table he was at and arrested him.
