VIDEO: Dallas County car thief drags man

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department needs help finding a thief who dragged a 58-year-old man while stealing his car.

The robbery happened on July 27 at the Pecan Lake Mobile Home Park on Belt Line Road in Dallas.

Terry Edge left his 2013 Honda Civic running in front of the manager’s office while he got out to check his mail. The thief quickly jumped in the car and started driving away.

“And he's the type of man that's gonna fight for what's his,” said Kimberly, Terry’s wife. “And that's what he did.”

Edge tried to intervene and ended up being dragged about 65 to 70 feet. He was treated at the scene for scrapes and bruises, the sheriff’s department said.

A surveillance camera captured the whole thing. The suspect is a 25 to 35-year-old white male who weighs about 175 to 200 pounds. He has full sleeve tattoos on both arms and blond hair. On the day of the robbery he was wearing a striped polo shirt, black shorts and sunglasses.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office did find the car. Kimberly says it was abandoned in a parking lot and trashed on the inside. Terry’s handgun, which was under the seat, is gone.

Anyone with information is asked to call the criminal investigations unit at 214-653-3495.
