Victim testifies during Arlington hit-and-run trial

The elderly man who was struck by a hit-and-run driver says the last thing he remembers about the accident is crossing the street and then waking up in an ambulance.

Omar Muhammed is on trial accused of hitting and seriously injuring 73-year-old Terry Pinkston in Arlington last February. He was arrested at DFW Airport as he was about to take off for the Middle East.

A witness told jurors he heard the crash and then saw Muhammed's dark blue car speeding off. Pinkston was left in a large pool of blood on a sidewalk.

"I opened my eyes, but couldn't get my left eye to open. I thought that was strange," the elderly victim said. "Nothing hurt at the time."

However, Pinkston said he did get flowers and a letter describing remorse from him.
