Van used to bring disadvantaged kids to school stolen in Dallas

A group of school children may not have a way to get to school on Monday.

A van was stolen from Rylie’s Home Daycare in southeast Dallas. Police later found it damaged and ditched a few miles away.

The owner said it’s the only van she had and she used it to take disadvantaged children to school.

“I just can’t believe anyone would take a van from a daycare. I’m just beside myself. I’m devastated. It’s terrible. And my grandson’s devastated by it too,” said Naomi Ortiz, a grandparent.

The cost to rent another van is about $200 a day, a price the owner said she can’t afford.
