USGS: 3.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Johnson County

The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 3.5 magnitude earthquake in Johnson County Friday afternoon.

The earthquake's center was about 5 miles northwest of Venus, Texas around 7:45 p.m.

Johnson County Emergency Management said it is investigating the incident and is urging the public to only call 911 to report damage or injuries.

There have not been any reports of major damage.
