Yankee Candle recalls selected candles after reports of jar cracking when lit

Yankee Candle is recalling 31,000 candles due to a laceration hazard when lit.

The candles are a part of the company’s “Luminous Collection” fragrance candle line. According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, when the candle is lit, the glass jar can crack and poses a laceration hazard.

The affected fragrances include: Sea Salt & Coral, Blackberry & Sage, Apple Blossom & Melon, Sugarcane & Honey, Pine & Sandalwood, and Cinnamon & Cedar.

According to the CPSC, they have received 16 reports of the glass jar cracking, however no injuries have been reported.

The items were sold exclusively at Yankee Candle stores nationwide and online at www.yankeecandle.com from September 2016 through November 2016.

Consumers should stop using the recalled candles immediately and contact Yankee Candle for a full refund.
