A glass pane on a new transparent bridge that is 3,540 feet above sea level shattered in China sending tourists walking across it into a panic.

"I heard a bang from under…Everybody is screaming. I cried, ‘It’s really cracked! It’s really cracked!’ And pushed the people in front of me to get away," a tourist told Chinese media.

The same tourist posted a photo of the shattered glass plane Chinese social media.

"I was almost at the end and suddenly I heard a sound. My foot shook a little. I looked down and I saw that there was a crack in the floor," the tourist told Chinese media.

Another tourist took to her blog to explain the fear she felt when she heard and saw the crack.

The U-shaped Yuntaishan glass walkway opened on September 20 in China's Henan province.

The incident occurred Monday. A tourist reportedly dropped a thermos causing the crack. Walks across the glass structure have been suspended.
